Editorial mission
We help readers make bounded decisions about AI customer-service and website-chat software through concrete definitions, dated official sources, reproducible tests where available, explicit unknowns, and visible limitations. Ownership and commercial interest are part of the evidence a reader should see, not a footnote hidden after a recommendation.

Source hierarchy
| Priority | Source | Permitted use |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Official product, help, pricing, and legal pages | Current capabilities, limits, price units, and contractual boundaries. |
| 2 | Primary public records and official guidance | Legal, regulatory, technical, and market definitions. |
| 3 | Credible independent reporting | Context that does not override a current primary source. |
| 4 | Vendor studies | Attributed claims with method, population, date, and limitations. |
| 5 | User reviews | Clearly labeled experience signals, never proof of a universal product fact. |
Official product and legal pages
Current official product, help, pricing, limitation, and legal pages are the first source for vendor-controlled facts. The recorded wording cannot extend beyond what those sources support.
primary public records
Statutes, agency guidance, standards, and other primary public records support legal, regulatory, technical, and definitional context. Editorial summaries do not replace the controlling record.
credible independent reporting
Credible reporting may add context, chronology, or external scrutiny when a primary record is incomplete. It cannot silently override a newer official source or prove an untested feature.
vendor studies
A vendor study is attributed to its sponsor and records the method, population, date, and material limitations. Its findings are not restated as universal independent evidence.
user reviews
User reviews can signal experiences worth investigating, but they do not prove a universal product fact. Material review excerpts require provenance and relationship disclosure.

How AI may be used
- Allowed
- Outlining, consistency checks, structured extraction, and draft assistance.
- Requires human verification
- Every sourced claim, comparison state, calculation, link, disclosure, and substantive revision is checked against the recorded evidence.
- Prohibited
- Fabricated tests, quotes, citations, credentials, customers, personal experience, or certainty that the evidence does not support.
Allowed
AI may assist with outlining, structured extraction, consistency checks, and drafting. It may not turn an absent source, ambiguous wording, or missing test into a published fact.
requires human verification
A human verifies every source-backed claim, comparison state, calculation, disclosure, link, and substantive revision against the recorded evidence before it is treated as publication copy.
prohibited
Fabricated citations, tests, quotes, credentials, customers, personal experience, ratings, certainty, or vendor facts are prohibited whether produced by a person, model, or automation.
| State | Boundary |
|---|---|
| Allowed | Outlining, structured extraction, consistency checks, and draft assistance. |
| Human verification required | Claims, sources, calculations, links, disclosures, comparison states, and substantive revisions. |
| Prohibited | Fabricated tests, quotes, sources, credentials, customers, personal experience, or certainty unsupported by evidence. |
Claim rules
| Label | Rule |
|---|---|
| Fact | A source or recorded test directly supports the wording. |
| Vendor claim | Attributed to the vendor; not restated as our finding. |
| Inference | The reasoning and underlying facts are visible. |
| Opinion | A judgment tied to a stated reader scenario. |
| Unknown | Stored as null and not silently treated as zero, false, or favorable. |
Facts
A factual statement must be directly supported by a current source or a recorded test. The visible wording stays within the evidence and carries the applicable checked date.
vendor claims
A statement supplied by a vendor remains visibly attributed as a vendor claim. Repetition on an official page does not make it an independently observed result.
inferences
An inference identifies the underlying facts and the reasoning that connects them. It is not phrased as a measured outcome or guaranteed product behavior.
opinions
An editorial opinion is a bounded judgment tied to a named reader scenario, requirements, and tradeoffs. It is not presented as universal consensus or an objective rank.
unknowns
When evidence does not establish a material field, the registry stores null and the page says not stated or could not be verified. Unknown is not converted to false, zero, or favorable.
| Label | Publication rule |
|---|---|
| Fact | A source or recorded test directly supports the wording. |
| Vendor claim | Attributed to the vendor; not restated as the publication’s finding. |
| Inference | The reasoning and every underlying fact remain visible. |
| Opinion | A judgment tied to a stated buyer scenario. |
| Unknown | Stored as null; never converted to zero, false, or favorable. |
Product testing
An observed public demo is labeled as a demo and limited to what was visible. An account-based test records its date, tier, configuration, inputs, expected behavior, result, evidence, and limitations. Without access, we say that a behavior could not be tested; we do not imply hands-on use.
Observed public demo
A public demo supports only the behavior visible in that dated demonstration. It is labeled as a demo and does not imply account access, production reliability, or broader configuration coverage.
account-based test
An account-based test records date, tier, configuration, inputs, expected behavior, observed result, evidence, and limitations so another reviewer can understand exactly what was exercised.
no access
Without suitable account or production access, we state that the behavior could not be tested. We do not imply hands-on use or fill the gap from marketing copy.
Corrections and updates
A material correction changes a capability, limitation, price, method, score, or verdict and receives a dated internal editorial record. A minor edit improves clarity without changing meaning. A source refresh records the new check date and any substantive difference.

Material correction
A change to a capability, limitation, price, method, score, or verdict is material. The correction is recorded internally with its date and substantive change.
minor edit
A minor edit improves grammar, clarity, formatting, or navigation without changing meaning. It may be recorded internally without presenting a new factual review date.
source refresh
A source refresh records a new check date and any substantive difference. An unchanged verification is not misrepresented as a new feature, finding, or methodology revision.
Commercial safeguards
- No vendor can pay for rank, inclusion, a score, a link, or favorable language.
- No affiliate or owner economics may be hidden from the reader.
- The owned product uses the same fields and must-pass rules as every competitor.
- A commercial request cannot override a sourced finding without a public correction.
No paid rank
A vendor cannot buy inclusion, placement, scoring, a badge, a link, or favorable language. Payment is never an input to the published ranking or recommendation logic.
no hidden affiliate economics
Any ownership, affiliate, sponsorship, referral, compensated, discounted, or gifted relationship must be disclosed before it can affect a reader’s commercial action.
owner-product controls
First AI Employee receives no automatic placement or scoring advantage. It follows the same evidence fields and must-pass rules, with an additional ownership disclosure and competitor-win requirement.
Publication gate
Publication gate checklist
- Every material claim resolves to a source or a reproducible test record.
- Source and check dates are visible and within their review rule.
- Unknown values remain null and material conflicts remain visible.
- The owner-product disclosure appears before recommendations and product actions.
- Every comparison applies the same fields, must-pass gates, and pricing normalization.
- A direct comparison states a realistic competitor-or-neither-fit scenario.
- Routes, links, structured data, no-data-collection, and accessibility checks pass.
- An accountable reviewer approves the evidence and material conclusion.
